Dicumyl Peroxide (DCP) CAS: 80-43-3

Dicumyl peroxide (DCP, CAS 80-43-3) is an organic peroxide widely used as a crosslinking agent and polymerization initiator across rubber, plastics, and polymer manufacturing. UAB An Group Export supplies DCP in standard and specialty grades, matched to each customer's processing requirements.

It is used across cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) cable insulation, rubber vulcanization, EVA foam production, and as a polymerization initiator in select chemical manufacturing processes. Its thermal decomposition profile generates free radicals that initiate crosslinking reactions, making it a key process chemical for producing heat-resistant, mechanically stronger polymer networks.

For industrial buyers, supply is coordinated around grade, purity, volume, packaging, and delivery destination, in line with applicable product and transport regulations for organic peroxides. Bulk and commercial orders are both handled — send your requirements and we'll prepare a quote covering supply, packaging, logistics, and delivery.

Key Applications

Wire & Cable InsulationA primary crosslinking agent for producing cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) used in medium- and high-voltage cable insulation.

Rubber VulcanizationUsed as a curing agent in the vulcanization of natural and synthetic rubber compounds, including silicone rubber.

EVA Foam ProductionUsed as a crosslinking agent in EVA (ethylene-vinyl acetate) foam manufacturing for footwear and cushioning applications.

Polymer ManufacturingUsed as a free-radical initiator in polymer grafting and crosslinking processes.

Adhesives & SealantsUsed in select crosslinkable adhesive and sealant formulations.

Supply & Packaging

Supplied according to your required purity and grade, quantity, packaging, and destination. Due to its classification as an organic peroxide (UN 3106 / Class 5.2), DCP is supplied strictly in accordance with dangerous-goods packaging requirements, typically in fiber drums or approved containers with specified maximum package quantities per shipment.

Important handling and transport note: Dicumyl peroxide is a self-reactive substance with a defined Self-Accelerating Decomposition Temperature (SADT). It requires temperature-controlled storage and transport within manufacturer-specified limits, must be kept away from heat sources, direct sunlight, and incompatible materials (reducing agents, strong acids), and is shipped under Class 5.2 dangerous-goods regulations. Storage and transport temperature requirements will be confirmed at the time of quotation based on destination and shipment duration.

Product Documentation

Available on request, depending on the specific product and supply arrangement:

  • Safety Data Sheet (SDS)

  • Certificate of Analysis (CoA)

  • Technical Data Sheet (TDS), including SADT and recommended storage temperature range

  • Dangerous goods declaration and UN packaging certification

  • Shipping and transport documentation

Compliance statement:

"Due to the regulated nature of this product, orders are subject to business registration verification and screening against applicable international sanctions and restricted-party lists. Buyers may be required to provide additional end-use declarations, storage capability confirmation, or supporting documentation before an order is confirmed. UAB An Group Export reserves the right to decline any order where end use, destination, storage conditions, or buyer information cannot be adequately verified."
