EDTA Disodium vs. EDTA Tetrasodium — Which Grade Do You Need?
EDTA disodium (dihydrate) is mildly acidic in solution and is the standard grade for personal care, cosmetics, food preservation, and pharmaceutical applications where a near-neutral pH is required. EDTA tetrasodium is fully neutralized and highly alkaline in solution, making it the preferred grade for industrial cleaning, detergent formulations, and alkaline process environments where the disodium form would not dissolve completely or would lower pH undesirably.
