Key Applications
Stannous Chloride Dihydrate is used in tin electroplating, metal surface treatment, chemical manufacturing and as a reducing agent. It is also used in preparing glass and plastics for metallization and in selected soldering-flux, catalyst and specialty chemical applications.
Specification Note
Commercial grades vary considerably. Current supplier examples include 98% reagent/ACS grades and higher-purity analytical or trace-metal grades, so the actual purity and impurity profile should be confirmed by the supplied CoA rather than presented as a fixed UAB specification.
Storage & Handling
Stannous Chloride Dihydrate is corrosive and air-sensitive according to current commercial safety information. Store and handle it according to the SDS for the exact grade supplied, with appropriate protective equipment and controlled storage conditions.
